End Of The School Year
With the weather related cancelations that we had in the last quarter, the two snow days that were originally placed into the school calendar will be days where school is in session. School will be in session on Thursday, April 13, 2017, (snow make-up day #3) with a one hour early dismissal, and there will be school on Friday, May 26, 2017, (snow make-up day #1), also with a one hour early dismissal. With the additional cancelation beyond the number of days that were scheduled into the year for weather related incidents the last day for students is on Thursday, June 1, 2017. This will also be the new date for commencement.
Time For Preschool?
The Learning Lamp offers a preschool program to help children gain the skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Students build the foundation for learning to read with their curriculum. The days also include an activity-based math curriculum, songs, and center-based learning. Please see our preschool flyer for more information.
Kindergarten registration for the 2017-2018 school year is currently underway. Students must turn five years old before September 1 to enroll. For more information, please call the elementary office at (814) 479-4080.
Two New Programs
We are excited to announce two new programs to our district this fall. The Learning Lamp will be setting up a before and after school program that will serve the elementary students in the Conemaugh Township Area School District from 6:00-8:30 a.m. and from 3:30-6:00 p.m. during the school year. They will also establish a preschool classroom at the elementary school. If you are interested in learning more about these programs, please see the flyers below. You can also call The Learning Lamp at (814) 262-0732.
